All you need is a good pair of boots and a love of freedom to find your way to the real heart of New Zealand . Tramping and Bush walking is a national pastime in New Zealand and there are hundreds of tracks to lead you through some of the most unspoilt landscapes on earth. National Parks cover two thirds of New Zealand and the country is home to two World Heritage Areas.
New Zealand's landscape offers walkers the chance to experience pristine lakes, remote beaches, majestic mountains, rugged coastlines and glacial valleys that will challenge and inspire you. The temperate climate makes for great walking weather. New Zealand walking tracks are world famous and they offer world class facilities. Tracks are well tended, with campsites and shelters regularly maintained.

World Famous Treks
Milford Track – The most famous walk of all with some of the most sensational scenery, flora and fauna you will experience. This 55 km adventure trek is located in the World Heritage listed region of Fiordland National Park and extends from the head of Lake Te Anau to the grandeur of Milford Sound.
Routeburn Walk - A 41 km guided walk through World Heritage Fiordland and Mt Aspiring National Parks. The walk crosses the divide with views down the Hollyford Valley , continues past Lake MacKenzie and the Routeburn Falls , and then descends down the Routeburn Valley .
Hollyford Valley Walk – A 56 km walk through New Zealand 's first World Heritage listed region. It starts the near-vertical walls of the Darran Mountains and follows the spectacular Hollyford River to the Tasman Sea . This walk has views of Fiordland's highest peaks, unique flora and fauna along with the west coast's Seal colonies.
Abel Tasman National Park Walk – This walk has the most stunning views and is New Zealand 's most popular track. A relaxing coastal walk through native bush and past waterfalls, lagoons and streams, while constantly viewing gently curving golden beaches and sparkling seas. The 5 day walk allows free time on days 2 and 4. The trek gives you the option of sea kayaking. |
